Gifted Monitor ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign up, we collect your name, username, email address, WhatsApp phone number, and a hashed (encrypted) password. We never store your plain-text password.
Monitor Data
We store the URLs, request paths, methods, and check intervals for the monitors you create. We also store check history: timestamps, response times, HTTP status codes, and any error messages from each ping.
Usage Data
We may log standard server access data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and debugging purposes. This data is not linked to third-party advertising.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and maintain the monitoring service
- To send WhatsApp alerts when your monitored sites change status
- To verify your identity during sign-up and login
- To respond to support requests
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents
3. WhatsApp Notifications
By providing your WhatsApp number, you consent to receive automated status alert messages from Gifted Monitor. You can disable these alerts at any time in your Profile settings. We do not use your WhatsApp number for marketing.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with:
- Service providers — such as database hosting (Neon/PostgreSQL) and WhatsApp messaging APIs, used solely to provide the service
- Legal authorities — if required by law or to protect our rights
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data as long as your account is active. Monitor check history is kept for a rolling window of 60 checks per monitor. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Profile page.
6. Security
We use industry-standard security practices: bcrypt password hashing, JWT authentication tokens, HTTPS encryption, rate limiting on authentication endpoints, and OTP verification for new accounts.
7. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser localStorage to store your authentication token. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
8. Your Rights
- Access — you can view all your data in your account dashboard
- Correction — you can update your profile information at any time
- Deletion — you can delete your account from the Profile page
- Portability — contact us to request an export of your data
9. Children's Privacy
Gifted Monitor is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
